The Tavern in the Square is an evolution of the classic neighborhood joint. A cultural icon for Hartford, the bakery now branded with the family name provides excellent Jamaican cuisine at accessible prices. The company motto remains true, “We Bake with Love.”

Hardo Bread is a staple for Jamaicans around the world. We bake ours fresh every day without any chemical stabilizers that allow supermarket bread to stay soft on the shelf for weeks. Ours doesn’t last for weeks, but that is on purpose.
